Palau CityFest Bringing Service and Celebration to Arizona

Arizona CityFest will showcase an eclectic musical mix, from hip-hop to rock (TobyMac and Skillet) country to gospel (The Band Perry and Israel Houghton) and Latin pop to praise music (Marisol and Phil Wickham). Action sports demos will feature top pro/am athletes from the extreme sports of skateboarding, freestyle motocross and BMX biking. Video superstars Bob & Larry from the VeggieTales video series will host a massive Family Fun Zone.

PHOENIX, Nov. 23, 2010 -- More than 5200 volunteers from the Phoenix area’s faith community turned out this past weekend for an "impact day" against hunger.

Members of the Valley’s civic, business and faith communities will gather next week to launch what organizers believe will be Arizona’s largest community-service initiative.
On Tuesday, CityFest will kick off the Season of Service, a six-month community-service project. Leaders of the Luis Palau Association, a Portland, Ore., Christian organization, say long-term, service-based projects are most effective at changing people and communities.

Arizona CityFest to Tie Faith Community with Volunteerism and Service: Season of Service Expected to Enlist Thousands for Multiple Projects

A nationally acclaimed initiative for community service will be coming to the “Valley of the Sun” and other cities throughout the state when the Season of Service launches this fall. Part of Arizona CityFest with Luis Palau, the campaign will initiate service projects – and support existing programs – that address the pressing needs of hunger, homelessness, health care, education, family well-being, and neighborhood revitalization.
