Members of the Valley’s civic, business and faith communities will gather next week to launch what organizers believe will be Arizona’s largest community-service initiative.
On Tuesday, CityFest will kick off the Season of Service, a six-month community-service project. Leaders of the Luis Palau Association, a Portland, Ore., Christian organization, say long-term, service-based projects are most effective at changing people and communities.
A nationally acclaimed initiative for community service will be coming to the “Valley of the Sun” and other cities throughout the state when the Season of Service launches this fall. Part of Arizona CityFest with Luis Palau, the campaign will initiate service projects – and support existing programs – that address the pressing needs of hunger, homelessness, health care, education, family well-being, and neighborhood revitalization.
